CatalogCare

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-11

CatalogCare (“the app”, “we”) helps Shopify merchants find and fix product-page issues. This policy explains what data we access and how we use it.

What we access

CatalogCare accesses product catalog data only, using the read_products and write_products scopes. This includes product titles, descriptions, SEO fields, images and their alt text, product type, vendor, tags, and variant fields such as SKU and price.

What we do NOT access

We do not request, access, or store customer data, order data, or any protected customer data. We do not request marketing, payment, checkout, or fulfillment scopes.

What we store

To provide the service we store: product snapshots from each scan, the issues we detect, the fix suggestions we generate, your app settings, and audit logs of actions taken. We use this data only to scan your catalog, generate and apply fixes you approve, and produce reports.

Data retention & deletion

Scan history is retained according to your retention setting (default 90 days). You can delete your scan data at any time from the app’s Settings page. When you uninstall the app or Shopify sends a shop/redact request, we delete or anonymize all stored data for your shop, including sessions, scans, issues, suggestions, settings, jobs, and logs.

Your requests

Because we store no customer data, a customers/data_request returns confirmation that no customer data is held, and a customers/redact is a no-op. You may request deletion of your shop data by uninstalling or by contacting us.
